Standard DIN 940

This standard (DIN 940) defines dimensions, technical delivery conditions and the designation of studs with a thread length at the metal end of approximately 2,5 d (lenght of engagement) product grade A for coarse thread from M4 to M24 and fine pitch thread from M8 x 1 to M24x2. Studs complying with this standard are intended for use mainly in light metals of low strength.
