Niniejsza specyfikacja obejmuje wymagania chemiczne, mechaniczne i wymiarowe dla hartowanych podkladek stalowych do stosowania z elementami zlacznymi o nominalnej srednicy gwintu od 1/4 do 4 cali. Podkladki te sa przeznaczone do zastosowan ogólnych, mechanicznych i konstrukcyjnych ze srubami, nakretkami, szpilkami i innymi elementami zlacznymi z gwintem wewnetrznym i zewnetrznym. Podkladki te nadaja sie do stosowania z elementami zlacznymi objetymi specyfikacjami A325, A449 i 4490.
Style objetych podkladek to:
Okragle: podkladki o nominalnych rozmiarach srub od 1/4 do 4 cali, odpowiednie do zastosowan, w których jest wystarczajaco duzo miejsca i kat nachylenia na to pozwala.
Przyciete: te podkladki sa okragle lub fazowane do stosowania, gdy ograniczona przestrzen wymaga przyciecia jednej strony.
Bardzo grube: te podkladki sa okraglymi podkladkami o nominalnych rozmiarach od 1/2 do 1-1/2 cala, o nominalnej grubosci 5/16 cala, odpowiednimi do zastosowan konstrukcyjnych z otworami o duzych rozmiarach.
