These machines serve to hot deform the end, or a part, of a metal bar.
With this deformation, a pre-shaping is obtained, which allows subsequent hot forging process for screws and bolts.
The heating takes place throug the passing of a high current (Joule effect) and the deformation is caused by the axial thrust which determines the swelling of the areas that have attained a high temperature. The induction heat machines must therefore be able to deliver very high currents, and must also be able to develop substantial axial thrusts.
Metals normally heatraceable:
- Iron, steel
- Stainless steel and related alloys
- Brass
- Titanium and its alloys
- Nimonic alloys and other non-ferrous base materials
