Ori Martin Spa
Founded in 1933, is now a modern EAF steel mill for production of continuous casting billets and hot rolling of wire rod, bars and bars in coils for special applications in the automotive business as: fasteners, spring suspension, torsion bars, and stirring and mechanicals parts. It is also equipped with thermal treatments for annealing and Q&T.
Over 50% of the entire production regards special steels to make screws, bolts, nuts and all specific components requiring mechanical working. Stringent controls during steel - processing permits us to obtain products which are free from non-metallic inclusions and surface defects.
Using the controlled rolling process we obtain products with a very low decarburisation level and an absence of surface defects. The special retarded cooling process used at O.R.I. Martin gives our steels the characteristic of high deformability required for cold heading applications.
The main producers of bolts and screws in Europe and overseas choose ORI Martin special steels because they are very well suited for cold heating process not only for their high ductility, but also for their attitude to the tempering process. Further treatments of the wire rod e,g. spherodize annealing, chemical pickling and phosphate and soap coating are carried out internally within the ORI Martin group in order to guarantee product quality and flexible punctual deliveries.
A good part of the production also relates to steels for applications in high and low temperaure, employed in the production of studs for the mechanical sectors, petrochemical, power plants etc ..
Environmental investments
Ori Martin care as much for the external environment as for the internal one, and have always considered this as an important part of the company's mission. For this reason we are following an internal policy for the reduction of any external environmental impact. This policy has been followed with investments linked with the protection of the environment of about 23% of the total investments of the last 4 years.
Our ongoing internal policy of continuous care and correct managing of environmental issues, enabled us to achieve in 2002 the first ISO 14001 certification in Italy in the electro -steel producer sector.
