Studs with a thread length at the metal end of approximately 2 d

This standard DIN 835 defines dimensions, technical delivery conditions and the designation of studs with a thread length at the metal end of approximately 2 d (lenght of engagement) of product grade A for coarse thread from M4 to M24 and fine pitch thread from M8 x 1 to M24 x 2. Studs complying with this standard are intended for use mainly in aluminium alloys.

This standard has been drafted in a way to highlight the studs with an installation length of 1.5 d, the most commonly used. However, it was useful to also provide in this standard studs with implantation lengths of 1 d, 1.25 d and 2 d which correspond to more specific needs.
