Company Profile
Martyn Cleaver formed the Forward Group, named after the motto of the City of Birmingham and initially located adjacent to HMS Forward in Small Heath, Birmingham, in May 1997. Many of the experienced staff of one of the largest industrial distribution groups in the Midlands has since joined, bringing the people employed total up to 72. Significantly, Steve Sidwell, former Sales and Managing Director of 2 of the Midlands largest distributors joined in 1998 to take up the Chair for the Group. Shortly after this, the first operation dealing with Bearings, Transmission Products and Engineering Services was set up - Forward 2000 (UK) Ltd, established by current Directors John Lonie, Allan Bailey and John Mulcahy.

Across its wide range of products and services, if not already in place, the group will employ consistent methods of quality control to ensure it is in the best position to deliver quality products, in the correct quantities, on time and with a service that attracts the minimum of clutter and cost. It is the group''s aim to achieve ISO 9000 / 2000 within the next year, with current systems gearing up to achieve those standards.
